Sam was a great writer. He loved writing about things he knew about. At the end of the story, he let all the children in the library know that they were the author’s of their own stories and encouraged them to write. You are an author too. What will your story be about?

In the book, we have just read about how the boy went to see his father in the jail. The red faced man was mean and the boys father was sad. The father told the boy not to come see him again and that he would send word of how he was with the visiting preacher. Write a comment about what you think will happen next in the story and why you think it will happen. Please post your comment by Wednesday morning, before we read further in the book. It will count for a grade.

The first day of fall was yesterday, September 22, 2008. A new season has begun that is called Autumn or Fall, but the day that Fall starts has another name. Do you know  what it is? Please post a comment with your answer.
